Multi-Color Scottsburg currently services the Home & Personal Care and Food & Beverage markets. We utilize in-mold, heat transfer, shrink sleeve, cut & stack, and roll-to-roll labels and the print technology employed is rotogravure. Our facility prides itself on quality labeling solutions, lean initiatives, customer service and competitive response times.
A large CPG customer was experiencing scuff on their labels during product transit, decreasing their overall aesthetic appeal. Their previous solution was to place cardboard dividers around the neck of the product to eliminate any movement during distribution. However, this customer found that the cardboard dividers are very costly, $300M - $500M monthly.
MCC worked with MPD and the supply chain to identify the bottle rub points, and designed a more robust print trial. This trial verified varnish type and placement, and assured that the varnish could be incorporated without adversely affecting design intent.
Through our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, we are constantly investing in new technologies, materials and process to ensure we remain at the forefront of our industry, pioneering new standards for premium labels. From raw materials to finished goods, our in-house Research & Development team has a focused effort on new product development and new market innovations that help build brands and drive sales.
High Opacity White HTL
High opacity white in Heat Transfer is achieved through a combination of specialty inks and gravure cylinder engraving techniques. With this process, our heat transfer white is as brilliant as the white used on an opaque in-mold or pressure sensitive label.
With the Clear Advantage® technology reducing up to 1lb of wax per roll than traditional Therimage, the label construction becomes more cost effective while also limiting the potential contamination of the caustic solution used to clean the bottles before refilling.
